ABOUT MINISTRY OF SKILL DEVELOPMENT AND ENTREPRENEURSHIP

Headed by Shri Rajiv Pratap Rudy, the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) was created for the first time in the country by the Prime Minister Shri. Narendra Modi on 27th May 2014 to prioritize vocational training of youth. Skill development/vocational training is being perceived in this new dispensation as a rational, viable, long-term solution to the challenges of poverty and unemployment prevailing in the country. The Ministry works in coordination with several other ministries, to conceive and execute plans to make the youth employable in the domestic/international organized industrial sector. The Ministry of Skill Development And Entrepreneurship is responsible for co-ordination of all skill development efforts across the country, removal of disconnect between demand and supply of skilled manpower, building the vocational and technical training framework, skill up-gradation, building of new skills, and innovative thinking for jobs. The MSDE is working towards achieving the target of skilling/up-skilling 500million individuals by 2022.The National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) with its 200+ training partner network (among whom Globsyn Skill Development (P) Limited features significantly) delivers Sector Skill Council (SSC) approved, National Skills Qualification Framework (NSQF) aligned skills training to men and women across India. It is the mandate of the Skills Ministry to conceive of measures to build and sustain this ecosystem.
